The Bata Children’s Program (BCP) under the direction of the Bata Children’s Foundation is charged to bring all Bata community initiatives under one umbrella with the mission to create a brighter future for children in the communities in which Bata operates. Till December 2017, 70,625 children have benefited from the Bata Children's Program in 30 Bata countries.

We work in the Schools with disadvantaged children near to our areas of operation on the various aspects which are holistic and integral, touching upon the physical, emotional and aesthetic development of the child in addition to academics. All our school initiatives are focused towards providing cordial environment to children to study and teachers to teach, leading to improvement in quality of education.
During the year 2016-17, we worked with around 10,000 children across 19 schools at a Pan India level near our area of business operations. With 44% girl child in these schools, many programmes have been focused to encourage and promote education of girl child.
We believe that behavior change cannot be done overnight and is a continuous process, thus as part of the preventive healthcare program and promotion of life skills we conduct yearlong awareness workshops for the children on important issues like menstrual hygiene, good touch bad touch, personal hygiene, substance abuse, nutrition, etc. The company also sponsor health checkup camps in the schools as part of the preventive healthcare program.
We upgrade infrastructure in schools through classroom renovation, providing classroom furniture, setting up play area, setting up libraries, etc. Assisting teachers to get exposure to various training programmes for their continuous development is also our focus area. While working on improving academics, we also focus on the overall development of the child through providing an opportunity to get involved in extra-curricular activities like sports, arts and crafts, competitions, educational tours, etc. Children are also involved in self-defense classes.Bata’s contribution to Prime Minister’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Skill India Mission’
We continuously work upon to provide a clean and hygienic environment to the children with clean surroundings, safe and hygienic drinking water and sanitation facilities. We built toilets and facilities for drinking water & hand wash in the semi urban and rural schools. The Company also maintains these toilets and builds capacities of the children and school authorities as per the guidelines of Minimum Swachh Vidyalaya Package of the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
As part of promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programme , we have set up Computer Labs and Science Labs at schools. In order to make science interesting, we also conduct creative science workshops with the children through customized science kits.
